Like its predecessor cousins from the first Communicator family, the Nokia 9500 Communicator is based on Symbian OS and features the most popular office solutions, including email, personal information management, web browsing and document and presentation creation. It supports remote management using over-the-air provisioning, PC tools for device management and customization capabilities, and provides a cost effective, easy-to-maintain and a frequently updated device base, easing maintenance and deployment for enterprises. The tri-band device supporting EGPRS (EDGE) and WiFi 802.11b is expected to be available in during Q4 2004.

Series 40 user interface
A user interface that is optimised for small phones with colour displays. The series 40 user interface has a high-resolution colour display and supports four-way scrolling. The screen size is 128x128 pixels and up to 4096 colours are supported.
Series 80 user interface
A two-hand operated user interface with colour screen and space for different types of applications. The Nokia 9200 Communicator series represents the standard series 80 product, which has a full keyboard and a command button area for UI navigation.
