Dates view

This the main view of the application where you can see birthdays. Possible operations with them are shown below:

• New - creates new empty birthday record;
• New from Contacts - creates new birthday record with data from your Contacts application;
• Edit;
• Delete;

Every record has the following information about a birthday:

• First name;
• Last name;
• Birthdate;
• Photo;
• Reminder - when this option is turned on your record will be visible in Calendar application;
• Prefix text - text before First name and Last name in Calendar record;
• Reminder time - time of calendar appointment;
• Alarm - the same field as alarm field in calendar record;
• Days before;
• Alarm time;

In Misc menu you can find the following features:

• Export/Import CSV file - allows to backup and restore birthdays;
• Export/Import birthdays to Contacts application;
• Add all records to calendar;
• Refresh calendar record updates all Best Dates records;

Sort orders:

• Sort by date;
• Sort by name;
• Sort by days left;

View filters birthdays:

• Filter by day;
• Filter by week;
• Filter by month;
• Show all records;

Other functions:

• Go to the nearest birthday;
• Find/Find next birthdays by name;
• Show future age - when this option is checked Best Dates shows all records with future age;
• Change background allows to change background picture 208 x 256;

Settings

View settings:

• Text color;
• Selection color;
• Selection transparency level;
• Background type: image or color;
• Background color;

Default calendar record settings:

• Prefix text;
• Reminder time;
• Add alarm to calendar;
• Days before;
• Alarm time;

Reminder settings:

• Active - when this option is checked reminder shows Reminder dialog when time of birthday notification is reached;
• Days before;
• Remind sound;
• Sound volume;
• Template message is a text that you can send using reminder. Best Dates replaces words: %FirstName% and %LastName% with an actual name of a person.

Misc:

• Scroll bar action;
• Jog dial scroll action;
• Name format option;
• CSV field delimeter option;

Reminder

When remind time is reached Best Dates shows you a reminder dialog. You can select the following commands in this dialog:

• Later - remind later after some minutes or hours;
• Call a person;
• Send him/her SMS or EMail message;
