Best Car user guide

Do you have a car and a Symbian OS based smartphone and want to have your personal car manager directly on your phone? Then this application is absolutely necessary for you.

Best Car is a useful and handy utility that lets you keep track of your car's fuel consumption, trips and expenses. You can perform a huge number of functions and have any number of vehicles.

How to start:

This is the car view of Best Car. To add a new vehicle select menu command "Car - Add new".

In this view you can add new cars, edit and delete them.

You can also access application settings via menu command "Settings" and reports via menu command "Reports".

To open a car and go to three views with records: Fuel, Trips and Expenses just click the joystick or select command "Open".

Fuel, trips and expenses views:

When you open a car, you see three tabs: Fuel, Trips, Expenses.

By switching them you can switch views.

Here you can find the following commands:

  • Add new;
  • Add from template;
  • Edit;
  • Delete;
  • Mark:
    • Mark/Unmark;
    • Mark all/Unmark all;
    • Invert selected;
  • Filter:
    • By category...;
    • All;
    • This month;
    • Last month;
    • Custom period;
  • Set category;
  • Fuel(Trips, Expenses) templates;
  • Misc;

Other features:

  • You can filter records by date and by category at the same time;
  • From Misc menu you can export records as CSV file (Save as file, Send via Infrared/Bluetooth/MMS/EMail). You could import CSV file at Excel on your PC;
  • Also you can purge obsolete records, examine reports and configure settings;

Reports:

There are two kinds of reports: text reports and graphs.

You can also filter records in reports. Filters are shown above.

Settings:

In general settings you can select gallons or litres and kilometers or miles. In settings for categories you can add new categories and expense categories or delete them.

Templates:

It is possible that you always wash you car at the same carwash and it always costs the same. So, you don't want to enter the same data every time you want to add a new expense record. In this case you can create a template and then just use a command "Add from template" in fuel/trips/expenses view. A dialog with values for this new record will be automatically filled with predefined values from the template.
